A piece of urban furniture in Reykjavík.

Reykjavík is full of charming little squares that turn into potential relaxation areas during the summer months. One of these public squares, Frakklandsgarður, is a lovely green oasis in downtown Reykjavík, next to the famous Hallgrímskirkja. Together with Portland, I designed and built a piece of urban furniture that would respond to the garden's architectural and natural surroundings.

Inspired by the characteristic shape of the the church Hallgrímskirkja, we designed a minimalistic structure that can be used in various ways. The 5 platforms make it possible to lie, sit and stand on/by it.
